The Pursuit Begins

Writing this from a run down little motel in south Georgia. I spent most of the morning combing the net for a recent Slenderman sighting. After a bunch of unreliable stories, I managed to find what I believe in the genuine article.

I spent a couple of hours topping off my gear, then headed out for Otter Bay, FL, down in the Osceola National Forest. Three people have gone missing under mysterious circumstances, with two of those cases being linked to a "tall, pale man in a black suit." There wasn't much about the third, so that may require some investigation.

Of the first two, one was caught on a cell phone . . . sorta. A 911 call was placed by a housewife, Madelene Harvey,  who was home alone. About 10 p.m. she called to complain about a "tall man, dressed like a lawyer, but with a strange face" who was wandering around and looking in her windows. Police were dispatched, but didn't find anything. Then, around 1 a.m., another call to 911. This time, she said the man was in her house and that "something was wrong with his arms."  Mrs. Harvey told the operator that she was barricaded in her bedroom. Then a scream was heard, followed by a strange distortion. Officers arrived at her home, but no one was there. In the bedroom, blood was found, but no sign of Harvey.

One week later, a young man, James Billings, crashed into a mom-and-pop gas station, hysterical and raving about a "tall, skinny undertaker" with no face who was chasing him. When informed that the phone was out of order, he moaned & locked himself in the men's room. While the clerk tried to talk him into coming out, a scream followed by frenzied pounding on the door caused the clerk to call the police, followed by silence. When the door was forced open, there was no one inside. The clerk insists he watched the door the whole time he waited for the cops. The window was painted shut.

I should arrive tomorrow. I'll look into the third case, as well as get more details about the first two.

On a separate note, still no idea about weaknesses. I'm assuming that a combination of goofer dust and salt should keep him from popping up in the hotel bathroom! Only time will tell, I guess.

Until next time.
